What we store

August keeps only what it needs to sync your podcasts across your devices. No ads, no tracking, and your data is never sold.

On our server

Your account
Your Sign in with Apple account ID, and the email address Apple shares with us, which may be a private relay address.
Your profile
Your name and account photo, if you add them. Only you can see them.
Your library
The shows you follow, listening progress, played and saved episodes, your queue, Inbox choices and settings.
Imports
The feed addresses and show names you import. Private feeds, such as paid subscriber feeds, are never shown to anyone else.
Your devices
A notification token, app version and last-seen time for each device, so new-episode alerts can reach it.

Only on your device

Downloaded episodes and cached artwork stay on your iPhone.

Who else is involved

Our hosting providers keep standard request logs, including IP addresses, for a short time. Our own logs never record email addresses, feed addresses or sign-in tokens.

YouTube

August uses YouTube API Services to find the video version of an episode, using public YouTube information only. When you choose Watch Video, the video plays in YouTube's player, and by watching you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. YouTube and Google may collect information about your viewing as described in the Google Privacy Policy. August doesn't connect to your YouTube or Google account.

Deleting your data

In the app, go to Settings › Delete Account. That removes your account, your account photo and everything stored with it, on every device. Downloads on each device are removed when you delete the app.

Children

August isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
