Who we are

August is made by lab883 ("we"). "You" means the person using the app.

A beta

The app is still being built. Features may change or disappear, and things may break. Please tell us when they do. We may end the beta or your access to it at any time; if we shut the app down, we'll give you notice and a chance to export your library as OPML.

Your account

• You sign in with Apple. One account per person, and you're responsible for what happens in it.
• You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Delete Account.
• What we store and why is explained on the Privacy page.

Podcasts and videos

• Podcasts belong to their publishers. August reads their public feeds and plays audio from their servers; we don't host or own the shows.
• Only import feeds you're allowed to use. A paid subscriber feed stays private to you and isn't shared with anyone else.
• Videos play in YouTube's embedded player. Watching them means you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.

Fair use of the app

Don't try to break, overload or get around the app's security, access other people's data, or use the app to break the law or someone else's rights.

No guarantees

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, from using the beta. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law that can't be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app develops. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect; using the app afterwards means you accept the new terms.
